David Zinczenko, author of the New York Times best-selling book series “Eat This, Not That!” will deliver the keynote address at Virginia’s third Weight of the State childhood obesity prevention conference, sponsored by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth and Prevention Connections. Zinczenko will speak at the Richmond Westin at 3:15 p.m. on April 11.
A regular contributor on NBC’s Today show and the former editor-in-chief of Men’s Health magazine, Zinzcenko will discuss childhood obesity prevention and simple steps parents can take to help their children make smarter nutrition choices.
More than 400 attendees from around the state are expected at the conference, including educators, physicians, pediatricians and health professionals. A limited number of single $35 tickets to Zinczenko’s speech are also available for sale to the public at weightofthestateva.com.
Experts speaking at the conference will include Virginia Secretary of Education Laura W. Fornash and Lynn Parker with the Institute of Medicine.
