Nicotine Products Prevention Lessons
In accordance with H.B. 1881 (2019), the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY) developed Nicotine Products Prevention Lessons to provide prevention education for K-12 grade about products that contain nicotine like cigarettes, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and more.
These lessons are correlated with Virginia’s Standards of Learning and were created by Virginia public school teachers and Virginia Commonwealth University in conjunction with the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth.

Dangers of Fentanyl Lesson
The Dangers of Fentanyl lesson was initially developed by practitioners from the Warren County Community Health Coalition. It has been revised by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth with support from researchers at Virginia Tech, Virginia Commonwealth University, and East Tennessee State University. This evidence-informed educational lesson provides teachers with a tool to educate high school students (grades 9-12) about the evolving dangers of fentanyl.
